pARTY LiKe iT's yOUr BiRtHdAy!

a few weeks ago we had the boy's birthday party...here are the invites...This is probably my last year that I can do a combined birthday so we decided to do a "JARVIS BROTHER'S BIG BIRTHDAY BASH" and just combine all the things they are interested in right now...our original plan was to have part of the party be an adventure and have it at the park...but with March weather, we decided it might be safer to have it at the house... I took the boys to the park and let them play around and explore while I took pictures...I love the way they turned out!!! I had the cards cut with a scalloped edge and they turned out great! {the center pic I turned into a silhouette of the boys holding hands and used for party favors, stickers to seal the invites and a few other things!!!}

These pictures are a little out of order....the boys favorite thing right now is star wars so we decided to serve a star wars supper! We have a darling little star wars cook book that we took several ideas from...here are the "wookie cookies"

the "yoda soda" was a big hit....my boys love it!!

So some of the boys favorite things to play right now are legos, star wars, super heroes, cooking, cup stack, science experiments....so those were the things that we picked for the party...the moon bounce had batman on it...here Jack is playing at the Lego table.

The Stover girls and Graves girls playing at the cup stack table! This is one of the boys favorite things to play when we go to the Oklahoma Science Museum so MiMi bought them their own set of plastic cups for our house and they love to play with them!!!

Ellie at the science table....this table ended up just being a big mess....you can take a cup of water and sprinkle pepper on the top...then just drop one drop of dish soap on top and the pepper disappears.

These were the boys little cakes...sammy's was yoda and jack's was a little stack of legos! I love Sammy's face!

this was the big cake...I wanted it to be cute and match the party colors and not really be a theme...I love the way it turned out....and I made the little cake banner after seeing them all over the internet on different blogs! I think they are so cute! I made some bigger ones to hang on the light and out of the trees outside...

My first born turned six on the 8th! I cannot believe we have had him for six years!!!! It truly has been the best six years of my life and it has FLOWN by!!!We celebrated this little cutie all day on his special day where he got to be the boss all day! He LOVED it!!! MiMi and Poppy came over that morning to bring him his presents and then MiMi spent the day with us and took us to lunch! He picked Mexican for dinner {his fave} and he LOVED when they had him wear the sombrero to sing happy birthday!!! Him and Sammy helped me with the R2-D2 cake...I am a little rusty on my cake decorating skills! Let's hope Molly wants something easy like polka dots!!!

I love his little face and the way Poppy is looking at him! We all think he is pretty special!

He just started t-ball and had his first game last week....could he be any sweeter!!!??? He did a GREAT job!!!

Here he is early that morning opening his gifts! He loves that he has to use both hands now to show you how old he is!!!!

We gave him a "big boy bible" this year! We have lots of story book bibles and devotionals but this is his very first bible with his name on it and everything! here is Bob showing it to him! So Sweet!!!

I just like this picture of him playing with his legos....one of his FAVORITE things to do right now! Jack has always played on the floor like this....each little stage he's gone through...Thomas the Train, Bob the Builder, cars and trucks...he used to just lay on the floor and watch the wheels go around!!! I love him so much!!!!

I cannot believe that you are six years old already!!! what happened to that tiny little baby boy??? I just adore you! You pretty much can make me laugh all day long! Like today I asked you to sit in my lap and you said "COME ON! I am SIX years old!!!" You have always talked to me like a little adult! I love it! I could seriously write a book on the funny things that you say....You have the sweetest spirit and are so in tune with people's feelings! I love to listen to you play....you have the best imagination! Right now you are really in to star wars, so you are usually in character as "luke dark star" he is a bounty hunter who lost one of his hands in a battle and now has a mechanical hand {you wear a glove around a lot!} You love to draw pictures of droids and different things that you make up for star wars! It's so cute! You are a great student! You are reading so well and you love math and science! You might be the pickiest eater I have ever met!!! We are working on it....but you tell me all the time not to worry about it you are just a vegetarian! Sammy and Molly love you so much and you are the best big brother! I love to see how sweet you are with Molly {until she messes with your legos and then you are usually screaming for me to get her} Sammy loves playing with you and for the most part you play so well together! I hope you are always close!!! you two are the best of friends but LOVE to wrestle and beat up on each other!!! You remind me so much of your daddy! You are such a kind little boy! You see good in everyone just like him! I love that about you! I cannot tell you enough how proud we are to be your mommy and daddy and how honored we are that God picked us to raise you! He has HUGE plans for you Jack Robert!! I pray that you come to know him and follow him all the days of your life!!!!

hAPPY bIRTHDAY tO tHE cUTEST lITTLE 4 yEAR oLD i kNOW!!!we celebrated this little cutie on the 2nd! i LOVE this face!!! sammy has the best facial expressions....he does not like having his picture taken at all so I love when i actually catch one of his funny little faces!!!! Sammy LOVES to pester Molly....

So on Wednesday we started celebrating Sammy early that morning...I told Sammy on the days leading up to his birthday that he was the boss on his special day and we would do whatever he wanted to do....I probably should have been a little more specific because he was crazy bossy to all of us and by about 8:30 that night he was telling us that we had to do whatever he said and we were going to call him Obi-Ben from now on....{obi wan from star wars}

these pictures are all out of order....this is a picture of Sammy running around the big bottle at Pop's with Poppy and Jack! Sammy picked his favorite pizza place for lunch and then Pop's for dinner...we had been there a few weeks ago and they announced on the speaker that it was someone's birthday, so he told us that he wanted them to do that for him too....we were a little shocked because he is usually so shy!!! he had the cutest little face when they did it!!!

Sammy helped me make his Yoda cake....I didn't take any pics because it was a little rusty....but he was so happy with is so that is all that matters!!! Mimi took Molly for a while and we got to have some sweet one on one time while we made his special cake! I loved it!!!! I have always made their cakes they eat on their actual birthday...usually it's just an iced sheet cake or something...this year they have both requested characters from star wars....it was so hard!!!

back to that morning...right after Bob left for work the door bell rang and it was Poppy!!!! What a fun surprise...him and Mimi came over early to give him his presents too....MiMi spent the whole day with us and took us to lunch!

happy 4th birthday sweet boy!!! you are growing up so fast......you get funnier by the day and you are sooo smart! you love learning and have this competitive little spirit that i know is going to help you accomplish many things in life!!! i know that the Lord has HUGE things for you sammy and i cannot wait to see what they are! here are some of my favorite things that you are doing at four....

*you love music! you can hear a song on the radio and tell me who it is...we saw chris august at the thunder game one night and every time you hear the song that he sang that night you tell me that it is chris august...mimi and poppy got you an iPod for your birthday and the fact that you knew what songs you wanted on it at 4 years old is so funny to me!

*you love your brother and sister so much! you adore jack and love to play with him...molly and you have a really sweet relationship too...you pester the fire out of her but you love her so much! she was crying the other day and mimi heard you say"don't cry, you are beautiful" {make my heart melt!!!}

*you are so interested in reading and writing! It is so cute when Jack has homework you sit at the table with us and study every little thing he is doing....trying to figure it all out! you are such a smart little boy!

*you LOVE star wars and usually have some sort of costume on most days....you and jack act out little scenes from the movie and it is so cute! yoda is your favorite character!!!

*you are such a tough guy but you have the sweetest side....you get so excited on Saturday and Sunday when you realize Jack and daddy are going to be home all day....but then you immediately start hitting or wrestling them after you jump up and down that it's their day off!!!

*you are the funniest little kid! you make us all laugh so hard! and you have the best little giggle!!! i love to hear you laugh really hard!

we had a great valentine's day! we woke up with a scavenger hunt for the kids to find some little valentine's surprises, then a little lunch date with just mommy, we went to a fun little school party for jack's kindergarten class, a sweet little friend came over for a play date after school, daddy came home with flowers for his two girls {so sweet} then we had a romantic candle lit dinner {or maybe heart shaped pizzas} we ended the night with pink cupcakes!!!

Jack Robert...

You are so funny and so smart! I am amazed at your little mind and how it works! I love to listen to you play! You have a crazy imagination and a vocabulary that is well beyond your years! I LoVe that you make super hero/ninja {strange} noises all day long as you run through the house or jump off the couch pretending to be "creeper" or "ice man" or whoever you've decided to be that day!I love that you and Sam both strip down to your undies and find a super hero cape or some sort of costume pretty much the second we walk through the door! You are growing up WAY too fast but I love the young man that you are starting to be! You are doing so well in school and brought home a perfect report card the other day! The biggest thing in your little five year old life is you lost your first tooth!!! It was so fun for you and you were so excited! They have a little tooth at school that you get to write your name on and you were so excited!!! The tooth fairy left you a little surprise even though before you went to bed you told us that there was no tooth fairy and you knew that it was me and daddy and that was okay and then just went on playing like it was no big deal! I think you are the coolest 5 year old I know!!!

Sam Thomas...

I love being your mommy! I love that we get to see this funny, silly side of you that you do not really share with very many people! I love that you, like your brother usually have on a cape or costume of some sort most of the day....I love that you always have a little something special that you carry around with you! you love little things that you can take with you in the car....you've been this way since you were so little....it's never the same thing for very long...but one week it might be your big brother bracelet from when Molly was born that you will wear all day and maybe even sleep in and then the next week it might be a little car or army man....I think you are so funny and I absolutely love to hear you get the giggles about something! you laugh at Molly {not with her...AT her} all the time...you'll say "look at Ma-Wee's face" or "Ma-Wee is a crazy little baby" I think you and her are going to be buddies! {or maybe partners in crime!} you are a tough little man but the biggest snuggle bug! You are always finding a lap to crawl up into or if you are sitting by me you are always touching my face when you are telling me something! You love eye contact...if I am not looking right at you {especially when I am driving} you do not think I am listening and it drives you crazy! You are such a smart little boy! I would say right before Christmas a light bulb went off and you are so interested in learning! YOu LOVE to play school! You can write your name and actually lots of words for your age! I can say the sound a letter makes and you write the letter...you love for me to make you "homework" You could sit and listen to 100 books! you love to be read to! Sometimes I forget that you are 3 and not 5 like your brother because you are so grown up acting! You are my favorite 3 year old!

Miss Molly Reed...

You are a little stinker right now...but I couldn't love you more! you are a little sassy, a little high maitenance and a lot spoiled! {all the things that made me nervous about having a girl!} You talk all the time!!! The boys were late bloomers on talking so Daddy and I are not used to this at all! You say lots of things {pretty much try to repeat everything we say} but the words you say the most are...

dECEMBER

we've done lots of fun things this month! here are just a few...on thursday we had a super fun day at mimi's house baking and making candy! the boys loved taking the goodies to mimi's neighbors and we even brought some home to pass out to our neighbors too!

we got all dressed up for the Christmas Eve service at church! Sammy does not like taking pics right now....

last weekend we went to celebrate with our family in bartlesville....this was the only pic i got at my grandparent's house!?!?!? this is my grandpa whitson or as the boys like to call him grandpa danny! they absolutely adore him! it is really sweet!!!

we went to see santa a few times....molly's reaction was the same both times....not.a.fan.

jack's school party....he was picked to ring the bells for jingle bells! i was so proud of him!! jack goes to the sweetest little school....we were pleasantly surprised that they read a few stories about Jesus!!! I wasn't sure how they would handle the whole Christmas thing at public school...but jack came home one day and told me about a story that ms snow read about Jesus....i told him that made me and daddy so happy and we weren't sure that they would be able to talk about Jesus as this school and how awesome that is....he said "yeah, I bet God is up in Heaven with a huge smile on his face like the Joker!" {as in the joker from batman....a little disturbing that this is how my 5 year old pictures our Heavenly Father...hehe}

we found a fun little website that had the Christmas story with pictures that Bob read to the kiddos! they thought the part about a pregnant Mary riding a donkey was the best!

the boys decorated their happy birthday Jesus cake...the same train that we did last year...here are all three of them blowing out candles after we sang happy birthday to Jesus!
